I am Charlotte Stobart, a PhD researcher at Emmanuel College, the University of Cambridge in the department of the History and Philosophy of Science. I am currently researching experiences of polio disability in Britain and Kenya since 1947, particularly in relation to lived experiences and objects.

I have a BA hons. from Newcastle University in History and Politics and an MA from the University of Manchester in the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, funded by the Wellcome Trust.

Before beginning my PhD, I researched the experiences, representations and identities of people with polio-related disabilities through the British Polio Fellowship’s newsletter, The Bulletin. I have also researched experiences of calliper use among British people with polio-related disabilities.
